ATTICA — David "Dave" L. Coy, 51, 515 E. Washington St., Attica, died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at his residence. He was born June 12, 1951 in Indianapolis, the son of Carl and Margaret Coy. He married Melynda “Mendy" S. Wolfe Aug. 22, 1999 in Attica. She survives. He was raised in Indianapolis and graduated from Washington High School in Indianapolis in 1969. He had lived in the Lafayette area for 17 years and had resided in Attica since 1999. After graduation, he entered the U. S. Army and saw action during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon returning to the states he had worked as an auto mechanic for various car dealerships in Lafayette. He was presently working as the maintenance director at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette for the past three years. He was a Nascar enthusiast and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed science-fiction entertainment. Survivors, besides the wife, include: three daughters, Anna Coy (fiance Jeremy Scott), Cincinnati, Ohio and K. C. Coy and Allie Coy, both of Cincinnati; three step daughters, Courtney Wolfe, Cassie James and Carissa James, all of Attica; and a grandchild, Haley Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Aryton Coy. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Burial with military gravesite services were in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Veterans Home. – jlr
